Jim hails from Sunderland ( England ) and served almost 10 years in the British military before being medically discharged due to injuries from a parachute incident. He has been involved in throwing for over 7 years and highland games for almost 4 years.

Jim created the Wounded Highlanders in 2019 to promote adaptive athletes within the RSHGA. He trains 20+ adaptive athletes in highland games/strength training and also many active serving soldiers in highland games. The Wounded Highlanders have been working with Broken Caber from their inception in 2019 and are in may way responsible for Broken Caber’s proposed adaptive classes to be used by RSHGA to form their new adaptive classifications for the first time in Scotland.

Jim hold 3 adaptive world records in Adaptive Highland Games and is inches from setting several others. Jim’s favorite event is the hammer and aims to extend his hammer world record to well over 100 feet and the heavy hammer over 85 feet.

He has a true passion for adaptive sports and promoting disability sports, he also looks forward to continue working closely with Broken Caber.
